Death's-head Hawkmoth Crewneck

338,77 kr. DKK (plus tax)

A natural-history specimen with a reputation it didn't ask for.

With a skull-like marking across its thorax, the Death's-head hawkmoth has spent centuries collecting associations with death, superstition, and bad omens.

Even its scientific name, Acherontia atropos, borrows from the underworld and the Fate who cuts the thread of life.

It also squeaks when disturbed, which feels like an unnecessarily excellent detail.
